TOP ISSUES IN ALUM ROCK NEIGHBORHOODS:
- Street lighting (need more in neighborhoods; neighbors need to know how to report outages)
- Speeding on neighborhood streets and in school zones
- Access to community groups, like Neighborhood Watch, Next Door
- Illegal dumping and trash
- Safety; the general feeling of not feeling safe in our neighborhood
- Houses that allow misbehavior
- Need a comprehensive report on crime stats from our neighborhood
- Need to take care of each other and get to know each other
- Loitering
- Elderly neighbors that live alone
- City vs. County jurisdictions; need to know who to call for services
- Lack of communication
- Need a website to be aware of half-way houses and shelters
- Homeless
- Traffic
- Need street cleaning
- Want to know about under-cover operations and surveillance
- Increase in break-ins and burglaries of cars and homes
- Need more youth and elderly programs
- Increase of solicitors and others who may be checking out our homes
- Need to engage monolingual Spanish speakers who may be afraid to call law enforcement
- Abandoned shopping carts
